Go Turn The Light On: In-Flow Methodologies

You ever stop to think that we’re really just expressions of the people who came before us? I mean, how many times has someone said, “You act just like your mother” or “That’s exactly how your father would’ve handled it”? Our choices—good or bad, wins or losses—they all carry a piece of our lineage. And just like us, our ancestors were shaped by the world around them and the generations before them.

The thing is, we don’t usually walk around thinking about that. We’re not making every decision with a clear picture of how all these layers—family history, culture, environment—are influencing us. Honestly, it wouldn’t be realistic to do that all the time. But if we step back and look at it, it’s still true: our personal history is like this mix of pieces, some we recognize and others we’ve never even considered.

More than once, I’ve looked back and only later realized why I made a certain decision. Whether we’re aware of it or not, our choices are connected to something deeper. If we were to work backward, almost like drawing a flow chart from our decisions up to their origins, I think a lot of us would be surprised—maybe even a little shaken—by how unaware we’ve been of what’s really guiding us.

The point I’m really trying to get across is this: if we want to grow—if we want to make better decisions, live fuller lives, and actually move toward a better future—we’ve got to look past just the “why” and “how” of what’s happening right now.

We need to start recognizing our patterns, seeing how they’re all connected, and understanding where they come from. At the end of the day, it comes down to this: which patterns are we choosing to keep, and which ones do we need to shift—or even let go of completely—so we can get clear on who we really are… and let our light shine without all the static.

In a future blog, we’ll explore the decisions and choices we’re often unaware of—the ones that quietly shape our lives. As always, if you’d like to go deeper into this kind of work, you can book a session using the link below.
